From its origins in 1993 as a conference at the University of Reading/England the European Real Estate Society (ERES) in 1994 at the Amsterdam meeting became a formal society. ERES was established to create a structured and permanent network between real estate academics and professionals across Europe. ERES is dedicated to promote and advance the field of real estate research throughout Europe. Incorporated are many national property research societies, academic researchers and real estate practitioners, activities, such as the annual conference, the industry seminars, education seminars and publications which provide a forum for information flow and debate on research issues. ERES is a non-profit organisation affiliated with the International Real Estate Society, an organisation giving a wider contact base in real estate. (More).
The past presidents were Eamonn D’Arcy from the University of Reading/UK and Matthias Thomas from DID Deutsche Immobilen Datenbank/Germany, followed by Ramon Sotelo from Bauhaus University, Weimar/Germany as a president supported by Stanislav Belniak/Cracow University of Economics/Poland as a Vice-president. Acting as an executive director is Hanna Kaleva from KTI/Finland.
